More than 450 athletes entered the thirty-fourth Irish University Indoor Track and Field Championships at the National Indoor Arena in Abbotstown. The competition was scheduled for 7 March, with team points deciding the John Pius Boland and Maeve Kyle cups.
Dublin City University returned as defending men’s and women’s champions. The University of Limerick and University College Dublin were identified among the strongest challengers, while Munster Technological University and South East Technological University also brought substantial squads.
The programme spans sprints, distance races, hurdles, jumps, throws and combined events. Laura Frawley was among the leading women’s pentathlon entrants, while Jonas Stafford sought another fifteen-hundred-metre title and Max O’Reilly featured in the men’s sixty metres.
