Urankar and Fontaine retain wildwater sprint world titles
Both secured a fourth consecutive global sprint crown in Banja Luka.

Anze Urankar of Slovenia and Laura Fontaine of France each won a fourth successive global sprint title at the Wildwater Canoeing World Championships in Banja Luka. The federation published its concluding report on 24 May.
Urankar won the men’s K1 final in 53.08 seconds. Fontaine took women’s C1 gold in 1:02.04, ahead of Cecilia Panato and Marie Nemcova.
Czechia also collected two individual sprint titles: Matej Vanek retained the men’s C1 crown in 56.34, and Kristina Novosadova won women’s K1 in 58.50. These sprint results are distinct from the classic-distance team races held earlier in the championships.
