US Squash and the College Squash Association highlighted four playing and coaching careers during Black History Month. The programme recognised Pat Cosquer, Nku Patrick, Lauren Johnston and Christopher Fernandez for their contributions to athlete development, collegiate programmes and representation within American squash.

Cosquer’s work includes successful teams at Bates and Hobart and William Smith, while Patrick moved from Trinidad and Tobago’s junior system into college titles and coaching. Johnston combines collegiate coaching with involvement in the Black Squash Alliance.

Fernandez’s career spans CitySquash, national representation for the Dominican Republic and several college coaching roles. The spotlight linked their achievements with continuing work to support younger players and expand opportunities across the squash community.
