USA Archery explains athlete protection audits and event safeguards
The federation outlines training, screening, reporting and oversight procedures in its March update.
Source publication date:
USA Archery outlined its athlete protection procedures and annual audits by the U.S. Center for SafeSport. The federation said it had consistently demonstrated full compliance across four areas: education, communication, quality control and the response to misconduct reports.
Adults who regularly interact with or hold authority over minor athletes must complete required training and background screening. At sanctioned events, organisers verify participants’ eligibility and exclude anyone on the organisational exclusion list, including suspensions imposed in other sports.
The update also requires interactions with minors to remain observable and interruptible. It explained that SafeSport handles sexual misconduct and child abuse allegations, while USA Archery may address other misconduct and prevention-policy violations within its jurisdiction. Audit reports and reporting resources were linked for members.
