Vaughan’s first Dartford goal wins Welling derby
A stoppage-time finish delivered a 1–0 away victory.
Source publication date:
Rohan Vaughan scored his first goal for Dartford deep into added time to secure a 1–0 derby win at Welling United. The substitute struck in the 95th minute after Callum Jones's dangerous cross was not cleared by the home defence.
Dartford goalkeeper Jonny Henly had earlier preserved the clean sheet with a save from Jack Thomas. At the other end, Chris Arthur cleared Olly Box's follow-up off the line after MacKenzie Foley stopped Jones, keeping the match goalless into its closing stages.
Vaughan entered with six minutes of normal time remaining and made the decisive contribution. Dartford's fourteenth league win moved them within three points of the playoff places with a game in hand.
