Vertovese and Perugia retain Italian cross-country relay crowns
The champions controlled the opening day’s four-by-two-kilometre races in Selinunte.

Gruppo Alpinistico Vertovese retained the Italian men’s cross-country relay title in Selinunte with 24:25. The club led throughout the four-by-two-kilometre race and won its fifth championship in six years, finishing six seconds ahead of Athletic Club Firex Belluno.
European mixed-relay champion Sebastiano Parolini anchored the team after Luca Palamini, Federico Demarchi and Omar Cattaneo built the advantage. CUS Insubria Varese Como took third place in 24:47 on a windy course through the archaeological park.
Atletica Perugia won the women’s relay for a third consecutive year, with Melissa Fracassini completing the final leg in a team time of 28:32. The relay programme opened the national championships before the following day’s individual cross-country races.
