Source publication date:
Viborg qualified for the EHF European League women's finals despite losing 32–26 to Rapid Bucuresti in Romania. Their nine-goal advantage from the first leg proved sufficient, giving the Danish club a 61–58 aggregate victory and its first finals appearance in four years.
Rapid led 13–11 at halftime and maintained control of the return match, with Albertina Kassoma scoring ten goals. The Romanian side attempted to increase the pace and reduce the aggregate gap, supported by Estavana Polman's return to the lineup.
Goalkeepers Diana Ciuca and Louise Bak Jensen each recorded sixteen saves. Rosa Schmidt scored five for Viborg, whose coach Anders Friis used seven-against-six attacking formations during the contest. Rapid's six-goal win fell short of the margin needed to overturn the tie.
