Von Allmen and Nef win first Olympic team combined
The Swiss pair won men’s gold as Austria and a second Swiss team shared silver.

Source publication date:
Franjo von Allmen and Tanguy Nef won the first Olympic men’s alpine team combined title in Bormio. The Swiss pair combined a downhill run and a slalom run to finish 0.99 seconds ahead of two teams tied for silver.
Austria’s Vincent Kriechmayr and Manuel Feller shared second place with Switzerland’s Marco Odermatt and Loïc Meillard. Von Allmen stood fourth after the downhill, but Nef’s slalom moved their partnership ahead of the field to claim the inaugural title.
Italy’s Giovanni Franzoni led the downhill section, yet partner Alex Vinatzer could not preserve the advantage in slalom and their team finished seventh. The result gave von Allmen his second gold of the Games and Nef an Olympic title.
