Von Allmen retains Crans Montana downhill crown
The Swiss skier won the final men’s World Cup downhill before the Olympics by 0.65 seconds.

Franjo von Allmen won the men’s World Cup downhill in Crans Montana with a time of 1:55.00, retaining the title he earned at the Swiss venue the previous season. Dominik Paris finished second, 0.65 seconds behind, and Ryan Cochran-Siegle completed the podium.
Paris initially led after posting 1:55.65. Cochran-Siegle finished another five hundredths behind the Italian, while overall World Cup leader Marco Odermatt missed the podium after ending fourteen hundredths behind Paris.
The race was the final men’s downhill World Cup outing before Milano Cortina. Von Allmen’s home victory followed Malorie Blanc’s super-G success at the same venue a day earlier, giving Switzerland wins across the weekend’s two races.
