Wales defeated Montenegro 6-1 in Llanelli to collect its first victory of the Women's World Cup qualifying campaign. Hannah Cain and Mared Griffiths each scored twice, with Rachel Rowe and Sophie Ingle also finding the net as the hosts built a five-goal advantage before half-time.

Cain opened the scoring after seven minutes from Ceri Holland's pass and then assisted Rowe. Griffiths capitalised on a goalkeeping error, Ingle headed in after a recycled corner and Cain completed her double from Lily Woodham's pass before the interval.

Armisa Kuc scored for Montenegro in the second half, but Griffiths restored Wales' five-goal margin in the seventy-eighth minute. The victory, following the draw in Czechia, put Wales on four points and at the top of the group before April matches against Albania.
