West Indies hit 254 to beat Zimbabwe in Super Eights
Shimron Hetmyer and Rovman Powell led a 107-run victory in Mumbai.

West Indies defeated Zimbabwe by 107 runs in their opening Super Eight match at the men’s T20 World Cup in Mumbai. They posted 254 for six, the highest total of the 2026 tournament at that point, before dismissing Zimbabwe for 147.
Shimron Hetmyer made 85 from 34 balls and Rovman Powell scored 59. Hetmyer reached fifty in nineteen deliveries, the fastest World Cup half-century by a West Indian. The team struck nineteen sixes and sixteen fours at the Wankhede Stadium.
Zimbabwe lost three early wickets and could not sustain the required rate. Brad Evans supplied a late 43 from 21 balls, sharing a tournament-record forty-four-run tenth-wicket stand with Richard Ngarava. Gudakesh Motie took four for 28 and Akeal Hosein three for 28.
