Weston-super-Mare confirmed that academy striker Ricardo Thompson had signed first-team forms. The 19-year-old joined the under-19 side midway through the campaign and scored four goals in six National League Youth Alliance Division E appearances before earning the opportunity.

Thompson made his senior debut in the Francis Hillier Premier Cup against Paulton Rovers, winning a penalty before being substituted late in the game. He had previously developed at Bristol Rovers from under-nine to under-16 level.

He later attended Millfield School on a sports scholarship, playing under former Weston player Scott Laird. Academy manager Luke Coulson praised his technical and physical qualities, work ethic and response to first-team training, describing the move as another example of the club's development pathway.
