World Boxing endorses Armenia, Equatorial Guinea and Portugal
The additions brought the federation’s membership to 155 national bodies.
Source publication date:
World Boxing’s Executive Board endorsed membership applications from the boxing federations of Armenia, Equatorial Guinea and Portugal. The decision brought the organisation to 155 national federations, comprising 123 full members, one associate member and 31 endorsed members.
The new federations could compete in World Boxing events under endorsed status but would not vote at the 2026 Congress. Full membership would require ratification by Congress, with successful applicants then gaining voting rights at the following year’s meeting.
All three completed an application process covering governance and integrity requirements. World Boxing said they demonstrated open election procedures, recognised anti-doping policies and a structured dispute resolution and appeals process, either independent or supported by external input.
