Zheng and Rybakina advance to Doha meeting

Zheng Qinwen and Elena Rybakina advanced to a Doha third-round meeting after contrasting victories. Zheng defeated Alycia Parks 7–6, 3–6, 6–2 in two hours and forty-eight minutes, while Rybakina beat Wang Xinyu 6–2, 6–4 to record her four-hundredth career match win.

Zheng saved set points before winning the eighty-minute opening set. After Parks levelled the match, Zheng broke immediately in the decider and did not face another break point, completing her second consecutive three-set victory.

Rybakina recovered from 4–2 down in the second set against Wang by winning the final four games. The Australian Open champion extended her winning sequence to eight matches and remained unbeaten in three meetings with Wang.
