Julie Zogg and Benjamin Karl prepared for their final alpine snowboard World Cup weekend in Winterberg as the circuit recognised several departing riders. Zogg’s career included twelve victories, forty-three podiums and eight Crystal Globes, six of them in parallel slalom, before the scheduled farewell races.

Karl entered the finale with twenty-nine World Cup wins and sixty-two podiums across 233 starts since 2004. The five-time world champion planned to focus on cycling after his final individual snowboard race, following another Olympic gold during the current season.

Swiss riders Ladina Caviezel and Jessica Keiser also announced departures. Japan’s Tomoka Takeuchi concluded a career spanning seven Olympics, including silver in Sochi, while Cheyenne Loch stepped away after announcing she was expecting a child.
