Oda recovered from a set down to beat Martín de la Puente 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 and win the Australian Open men's wheelchair singles title.
Tokito Oda defeated Martín de la Puente 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 in the Australian Open men's wheelchair singles final. After dropping the opening set, the Japanese world No.1 changed the momentum across the next two sets and closed the championship on Kia Arena.
The title made Oda the youngest man to hold all four Grand Slam singles titles at the same time across any professional tennis format. It also completed a run across Roland Garros, Wimbledon, the US Open and Melbourne, while the expanded 16-player draw showed the event's continuing growth.
