Xiaohui Li wins her first major wheelchair singles title
Li defeated Diede de Groot 6-1, 6-2 in 50 minutes to become the Australian Open women's wheelchair singles champion.

China's Xiaohui Li beat Diede de Groot 6-1, 6-2 in the women's wheelchair singles final at Melbourne Park. Li controlled the 50-minute match against the 23-time major singles champion to secure the first Grand Slam singles trophy of her career.
Li had also defeated defending champion Yui Kamiji in the semifinal. The result matters beyond one final: it placed a new champion into a discipline historically led by a small group of dominant players and underlined China's growing depth in wheelchair tennis.
