Aichi-Nagoya confirmed wheelchair basketball programme ahead of opening games
The organiser's 15 October update sets out eight men's teams, six women's teams and the match programme at Aichi International Arena.
The Aichi-Nagoya 2026 organiser confirmed the wheelchair basketball teams and match programme in an update dated 15 October. Competition at Aichi International Arena begins on 16 October, ahead of the Games' 18 October opening ceremony. The published programme includes eight men's teams and six women's teams; it is a schedule confirmation, not a completed competition result.
Men's Group A comprises Kuwait, Thailand, China and Japan. Iraq, Iran, South Korea and the Philippines form Group B. Cambodia, China, Thailand, Laos, Iran and Japan make up the women's field. The first listed match is Cambodia against China in the women's preliminary round at 09:30 local time on 16 October, followed by Kuwait against Thailand in the men's competition at 10:30.
The schedule places the women's gold-medal match on 22 October and the men's on 23 October. IWBF's earlier qualification record corroborates the participating nations and men's pools, but those older qualification decisions are not presented as new draws. This report concerns the organiser's dated programme update; the already-listed Games calendar event is not duplicated, and none of the future fixtures is described as final.
