Ashlin Barry attacked alone with roughly 30 kilometres remaining and stayed clear to win the men’s under-23 road race at the UCI Road World Championships.

The victory, achieved on his 19th birthday, was the United States’ first world title in the under-23 men’s road race. Héctor Álvarez took silver and Jesper Stiansen bronze.
