Brandon McNulty won the elite men's road race at the UCI Road World Championships in Montréal, completing 273.4 kilometres in 6:17:04. The United States rider reached the finish 13 seconds ahead of the chasing group.

Australia's Michael Matthews took silver and the Netherlands' Mathieu van der Poel earned bronze. McNulty's victory ended a 33-year wait for a United States winner in the elite men's road race.

The final classification is recorded by the championships' official Tissot Timing service and was independently matched against the published Canadian race results.
