Demi Vollering won the elite women's road race at the 2026 UCI Road World Championships in Montréal, securing the first road-race rainbow jersey of her career. The Netherlands rider completed the 180.4-kilometre race in 4:45:09 and beat Poland's Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney in the final sprint.

Vollering attacked with 38 kilometres remaining, was caught before the final lap and then responded again on the last ascent. Italy's Elisa Longo Borghini finished four seconds behind to take bronze, while Marlen Reusser placed fourth at eight seconds.

The result was checked against the official Tissot Timing classification for the UCI championships and an independent race report. The Montréal event runs from 20 to 27 September.
