Global football transfer spending reaches new high

FIFA recorded more than $9.89bn in men’s fees and a record $28.6m in the women’s game during the mid-year window.

FIFA’s mid-year transfer snapshot recorded more than $9.89 billion in men’s international transfer fees and over 12,500 transfers, both new highs for the window.

Women’s professional football also set records with 1,406 international transfers and $28.6 million in fees. A total of 267 players from the 2026 World Cup changed clubs for more than $3.3 billion combined.
