Iker Lecuona doubles up in the Cremona Superpole Race
Lecuona resisted Nicolò Bulega to win for the second time in the Italian Round, while Alberto Surra claimed his first WorldSBK podium.
Iker Lecuona won the 10-lap WorldSBK Superpole Race at Cremona after retaking the lead from Aruba.it Racing - Ducati team-mate Nicolò Bulega and opening a 2.005-second margin by the finish. It was Lecuona's second victory of the Italian Round and the first time he had won consecutive WorldSBK races in one weekend.
Alberto Surra finished 5.314 seconds behind Lecuona to secure his first WorldSBK podium. Bulega's second place kept the riders' title undecided before Race 2, so this report records only the completed Superpole result.
