Abdusattorov wins the final Freestyle world championship place
A two-game victory over Pranav Venkatesh completes the eight-player championship field.

Nodirbek Abdusattorov won the final qualification place for the FIDE Freestyle Chess World Championship in Weissenhaus. He defeated Pranav Venkatesh two games to zero in the official Chess.com Play-In final, completing the tournament’s eight-player field.
More than one hundred titled players entered the qualifier, which culminated in a four-player knockout on January 15. Abdusattorov joins Magnus Carlsen, Levon Aronian, Fabiano Caruana, Vincent Keymer, Arjun Erigaisi, Javokhir Sindarov and Hans Niemann in Germany.
The championship is scheduled for February 13 to 15. Abdusattorov brings experience from an earlier Fischer Random world championship semifinal and several Freestyle Grand Slam appearances. Hou Yifan and Bibisara Assaubayeva will also play a parallel exhibition match on February 14 and 15.
