The AFC announced plans for a Youth Academy Network to connect elite development departments across Asia. The initiative was presented at the first Youth Panel meeting of its new term, with the aim of strengthening cooperation between academies, national youth teams and the confederation.

Membership will be by invitation, with no more than two academies from each participating member association. Directors will take part in organised exchanges, technical sessions and programmes for sharing development practice across professional clubs.

The panel also reviewed the Elite Youth Scheme, which had twenty-eight endorsed member associations and eleven awaiting evaluation. Revised regulations were targeted for publication by May 2027, while discussions covered player pathways, the transition into professional football and facilities.
