Aicher wins Tarvisio super-G ahead of Vonn
The German’s fourth career victory came with a decisive technical middle sector.
Source publication date:
Emma Aicher won the women’s super-G in Tarvisio, beating Lindsey Vonn by 0.27 seconds. The twenty-two-year-old German built her advantage in the technical second sector, handling the soft snow and fog more effectively than her closest rivals.
Ester Ledecka finished third, 0.94 seconds behind, for her first super-G podium in almost two years. Vonn’s runner-up finish was her forty-ninth World Cup podium in the discipline and her seventh podium in eight races this season.
Aicher recorded her fourth World Cup victory and seventh podium, with her top-three results now spanning three Alpine disciplines. The win strengthened her form before the Milano Cortina Games, where both speed events and technical versatility could shape her medal opportunities.
