Albacete beat Real Madrid 3-2 at the Carlos Belmonte to reach the Copa del Rey quarter-finals. A winner in the 94th minute settled the last-sixteen tie after Madrid had twice recovered from a one-goal deficit.
Javi Villar opened Albacete’s scoring from a corner before Franco Mastantuono equalised from a rebound during first-half added time. Jefté Betancor restored the home advantage in the 82nd minute as Madrid continued to push forward.
Gonzalo García headed in another Arda Güler corner during stoppage time, seemingly taking the game towards extra time. Jefté instead struck again moments later to complete Albacete’s victory, while academy players César Palacios and Manuel Ángel made Madrid debuts during the match.
