Australia completes perfect group stage as Bangladesh qualifies

Australia completed its Under-19 World Cup group programme unbeaten after defeating Sri Lanka by nine wickets. William Byrom took five wickets and Charles Lachmund removed both openers early, leaving Sri Lanka unable to recover before being dismissed for 58.
Australia reached the target in 11.5 overs, with Steven Hogan unbeaten on 24 and Nitesh Samuel on nineteen. The result gave the defending champions three victories from three outings before the Super Six.
Bangladesh also secured progression with a seven-wicket win over the United States. After dismissing USA for 199 despite Adnit Jhamb’s unbeaten 68, captain Azizul Hakim Tamim made 64 and shared a decisive 88-run stand with Kalam Siddiki Aleen.
