Barcelona and defending champions Magdeburg became the first clubs to secure direct men’s Champions League quarter-final entry in the 2025–26 season. Both returned from the international break with victories in round eleven, confirming their top-two positions in group B.

The qualification decisions came with three group-phase rounds still remaining. They allowed the two leading clubs to bypass the play-off stage, while teams below them continued to compete for positions in the route to the quarter-finals.

The same evening left the equivalent positions in group A unresolved, with Aalborg and Berlin still pursuing their places. The report therefore marked a specific qualification step for Barcelona and Magdeburg rather than the completion of the entire competition’s knockout field.
