Ferran Torres and Lamine Yamal supplied the goals in a 2-0 away victory.
Source publication date:
Barcelona advanced to the Copa del Rey quarter-finals after beating Racing Santander 2-0 at El Sardinero. The defending champions needed a strong second-half response against the leaders of Spain’s second division to secure their place in the last eight.
Ferran Torres opened the scoring in the 66th minute after Fermín López sent him through. Racing continued to threaten, with Manex Lozano twice having the ball in the net only for offside decisions to cancel the efforts.
Joan García blocked a late Lozano chance before Barcelona counterattacked to settle the tie. Raphinha eventually provided the pass for Lamine Yamal’s injury-time finish, ending a competitive evening in Cantabria and confirming Barcelona’s progression to the next round.
