Barcelona recovered from conceding first and played the second half short-handed against Athletic Club.
Source publication date:
Barcelona Women beat Athletic Club 3-1 in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final at Castalia. The Catalan side fell behind to Nerea Nevado’s penalty but responded before the interval and preserved its lead after Kika Nazareth was sent off.
Ona Batlle equalised by converting the rebound after Alexia Putellas struck the post. Irene Paredes then headed Barcelona in front from a corner, giving the team a narrow advantage before the dismissal changed the shape of the contest.
Barcelona continued to create chances with ten players. Ewa Pajor combined with Batlle to score the third goal in the second half, confirming a place in Saturday’s final against Real Madrid and completing a recovery that demanded both attacking precision and defensive resilience.
