Ben Mayes scored 191 from 117 balls against Scotland, establishing England’s highest individual innings at the men’s Under-19 World Cup. The eighteen-year-old struck eighteen fours and eight sixes in an innings that fell one run short of the tournament record.

Mayes reached his century in 65 balls and shared a 188-run partnership with Joe Moores after England lost an early wicket. His innings surpassed Dan Lawrence’s previous English record of 174, made against Fiji at the 2016 competition.

England finished on 404 for six, its highest total in the event, before dismissing Scotland for 152. The resulting 252-run win secured passage to the Super Six and strengthened England’s position ahead of the next phase.
