Fourteen countries were confirmed for Billie Jean King Cup qualifying ties on 10–11 April. Defending champion Italy, led by Jasmine Paolini and Sara Errani, drew Japan on clay in Velletri, while the United States named Iva Jovic and Hailey Baptiste for a visit to Belgium.

Canada’s squad included Victoria Mboko and Bianca Andreescu for a clay tie in Astana against Kazakhstan. Australia was to host Great Britain in Melbourne, and Switzerland would face Czechia in Biel, with Belinda Bencic and Linda Noskova among the selected players.

Slovenia drew Spain in Portoroz, while Ukraine and Poland were scheduled to meet in Gliwice. Each tie comprised five matches across two days. The seven winning nations would join host China at the September Finals in Shenzhen, with defeated teams entering November playoffs.
