Brignone reports persistent knee pain after Olympics
The Italian described treatment and a day-by-day decision on continuing her season.
Source publication date:
Federica Brignone reported continuing pain and difficulty putting weight on her injured leg before the Soldeu World Cup weekend. The Italian had undergone three days of assessment and treatment after the Olympics, including knee drainage and a hyaluronic acid injection earlier that week.
Brignone said she had hoped the treatment would bring greater relief but remained uncomfortable and did not join Thursday training. She planned to evaluate participation each day, emphasising that skiing needed to remain healthy and manageable as she continued recovering from multiple fractures suffered the previous April.
The skier said her immediate aim was to enjoy returning to the slopes rather than work towards next season. Further surgery was not currently possible because of the condition of her tibia.
