England became the first team to qualify for the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup semi-finals after beating Pakistan by two wickets in Kandy. Harry Brook scored 100 from 51 balls, becoming the first captain to make a century in the tournament’s history.

Chasing 165, England slipped to 58/4 before Brook’s partnerships with Sam Curran and Will Jacks restored the innings. Brook struck ten fours and four sixes. Late wickets briefly complicated the finish, but Jofra Archer hit the winning boundary in the final over.

Sahibzada Farhan earlier made 63 for Pakistan, while Liam Dawson took 3/24. Shaheen Afridi claimed 4/30 during the chase. England’s second Super Eight win secured its fifth successive appearance in the tournament’s final four.
