Brown and Swedenborg claim junior freeski halfpipe titles

Indra Brown won women’s freeski halfpipe gold at the Park and Pipe Junior World Championships in Calgary with a second-run score of 92 points. The Australian improved on an opening 88.50 to defeat Lainey Steen on 86.75 and Greta-Mia Meentalo on 80.25.
Brown arrived as the women’s World Cup halfpipe and overall park and pipe leader after three podiums in her rookie season. Her junior title followed fifth place on Olympic debut and fourth and fifth places in Calgary’s slopestyle and big air events.
Alexander Swedenborg won the men’s halfpipe final with 88.50 points for his first career victory. Fellow American Mack Winterberger took silver on 86.25, and New Zealand’s Cooper Breen completed the podium with a final-run 84.25.
