Auckland edged Solomon Kings 1-0 in Honiara after two decisive interventions late in the match. Substitute Aston Burns scored the winner before goalkeeper Oscar Mason saved a penalty to preserve the league leaders’ advantage in the OFC Pro League.

The Kings began with energy in front of their home supporters, although Auckland gradually created more danger after the interval. Emiliano Tade struck the crossbar from a free kick and Isa Prins headed off target before Burns broke the deadlock.

Burns drove in from the right and finished underneath goalkeeper Junior Petua with minutes remaining. Sota Higashide then had an opportunity to equalise from the spot in added time, but Mason pushed his penalty away to seal three points.
