Source publication date:
Rugby Canada named thirteen players for the men’s HSBC SVNS 3 tournament in Dubai. Interim coach Christiaan Esterhuizen selected a group captained by Lockie Kratz, with seven members returning from the team that won the November Rugby Americas North championship.
Takoda McMullin was set for his international sevens debut after earning five fifteen-a-side caps. Josiah Morra returned to the sevens squad for the first time since the 2024 regional championship, following involvement with the New England Free Jacks and Canada’s Test programme.
Canada’s pool opponents were Italy, Belgium and Madagascar. Two teams from the eight-team men’s competition would advance to SVNS 2, whose scheduled stops in Nairobi, Montevideo and São Paulo provide the next stage in the route towards the World Championship series.
