Casablanca opens judo year with three international events
Cadet, junior and senior competitions drew 636 entries from 42 delegations.

Casablanca hosted cadet and junior African Cups alongside a senior African Open, providing an early international test before the World Judo Tour. The African Judo Union and Royal Moroccan Judo Federation organised the programme, which received 636 entries from 42 delegations.
Lithuania led the cadet medal standings ahead of Canada and Morocco. Canada topped the junior table, followed by Estonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, while the host country won two junior titles during the three-event gathering.
A young Russian team won eight of the fourteen senior titles. Tunisia collected two golds, two silvers and a bronze, and Great Britain also won four medals as athletes from sixteen countries reached the senior podium.
