Ceccarelli runs fastest 60m since 2023 in Stockholm
A 6.61 final improved the Italian sprinter’s early-season best.
Source publication date:
Samuele Ceccarelli ran 6.61 in Stockholm, his fastest 60 metres since the 2023 indoor season. The Italian finished sixth, improving by six hundredths on his season-opening 6.67 in Ancona.
Romell Glave won the final in 6.51, ahead of Jeremiah Azu in 6.54 and Kishane Thompson in 6.56. The field therefore placed Ceccarelli’s improvement against established international sprint opposition.
Ceccarelli’s strongest indoor season remained 2023, when he won the European title in Istanbul with 6.48 after a 6.47 semi-final. The Stockholm result represented a return toward that level rather than a new lifetime best. Gloria Hooper finished sixth in the women’s final in 7.39.
