Jessica Pegula headed the announced Charleston Open entry field, joined by Amanda Anisimova and several other leading women. The defending champion was scheduled for a twelfth appearance at the tournament, which would run from 30 March to 5 April at Credit One Stadium.

Past champions Belinda Bencic, Madison Keys and Daria Kasatkina were included alongside Iva Jovic, Ekaterina Alexandrova and Diana Shnaider. The WTA 500 event planned a forty-eight-player singles draw and sixteen doubles teams on its distinctive green clay courts.

The announcement also highlighted a doubled financial package of 2.5 million dollars, matching the required prize money for an ATP 500 event. Charleston had received the WTA 500 Tournament of the Year award four consecutive times while maintaining its longstanding place on the women’s calendar.
