Chelsea defeated Brentford 2–0 at Stamford Bridge in Liam Rosenior’s first Premier League match in charge. The result ended a five-game winless league run and delivered Chelsea’s first league victory of 2026.
João Pedro opened the scoring in the twenty-sixth minute after Enzo Fernández blocked a clearance. His finish was initially disallowed for offside before a VAR review awarded the goal.
Cole Palmer converted a second-half penalty to secure the points. Brentford had threatened through Mathias Jensen’s shot against the post and Kevin Schade, whose close-range attempt was saved by Robert Sánchez. Chelsea moved to sixth in the table at that stage.
