China PR defeated Chinese Taipei 2-0 after extra time in Perth to progress from the Women’s Asian Cup quarter-finals. The defending champions also qualified for the 2027 World Cup and established a semi-final meeting with hosts Australia.

Chinese Taipei defended compactly and created occasional counterattacking opportunities, while goalkeeper Cheng Ssu-Yu repeatedly frustrated China PR. A Chinese goal was disallowed before half-time, and further chances struck the woodwork or missed the target as normal time finished scoreless.

Shao Ziqin finally opened the scoring early in extra time after Wang Shuang’s layoff. Cheng then saved a penalty, but a late own goal by Chen Ying-Hui completed China PR’s victory. Chinese Taipei retained a World Cup chance through a playoff against DPR Korea.
