Both matches ended level in regulation on the penultimate Pro League day in Tasmania.
Source publication date:
China’s women and Spain’s men collected shootout bonus points on the penultimate day of the Pro League stage in Hobart. Both sides recovered during regulation before prevailing in the separate contests that decide an extra point after a draw.
China came from behind to draw 2–2 with Spain and won the shootout 4–3. Candela Mejias had given Spain an early lead through a penalty-corner variation, while the match remained fast and competitive with important goalkeeping interventions at both ends.
Spain’s men scored late to finish 1–1 against India and then took the additional point. The two results left neither winning side with an outright regulation victory, but gave each a larger return from the day’s matches than their opponents received.
