Chinese Taipei beat India to secure a quarter-final
The 3-1 result sent Chinese Taipei through as Group C runners-up.

Chinese Taipei defeated India 3-1 in Sydney to qualify for the Women’s Asian Cup quarter-finals. They finished second in Group C behind Japan and earned a last-eight meeting with defending champions China PR, while India’s campaign came to an end.
Su Yu-Hsuan capitalised on a defensive mistake to open the scoring. Manisha Kalyan equalised with a free kick that crossed the line after striking the woodwork, but Chinese Taipei restored their advantage before half-time following a penalty and rebound into the net.
India continued to defend under pressure after the interval. Chinese Taipei eventually added a third when Chen Yu-Chin finished a through pass into an unguarded goal, completing a result that confirmed their progression from the group stage.
