Veer Chotrani defeated eighth seed Yannick Wilhelmi 11–6, 11–8, 11–3 to reach his first PSA Silver-level quarterfinal. The Indian world number fifty-two was competing in his first event at that level and secured a thirty-two-minute second-round victory in Cleveland.
The result followed another straight-games opening win and gave Chotrani a quarterfinal against second seed Leonel Cardenas at Squash in the Land. He credited a productive month of training and a positive mindset for helping him execute the intended match plan.
The official report also recorded Lucy Beecroft’s five-game comeback against Georgia Adderley and Malak Khafagy’s recovery from 2–1 down against Alicia Mead. Greg Lobban resisted Muhammad Asim Khan in five games as the tournament’s quarterfinal field was completed.
