Colombia were drawn with Paraguay, Chile, Argentina and Bolivia in the women’s South American Under-17 Championship. The draw took place on 10 March for a tournament scheduled in Paraguay from 24 April to 9 May, with ten national teams taking part.
The second group contained Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela and Uruguay. Each group would use a single round-robin format, and the leading three teams from each would progress beyond the preliminary stage, creating a six-team final phase.
The top two in each group would enter the semifinals, with both semifinal winners reaching the final and securing World Cup qualification. The losing semifinalists would face the third-placed teams in additional qualifying matches, keeping those teams in contention for the global tournament.
