Colombia win wheelchair basketball gold and Lima berth
The hosts defeated Argentina 71-52 in Valledupar’s regional final.

Colombia defeated Argentina 71-52 in the wheelchair basketball final at Valledupar 2026, securing the title in front of the home crowd at the La Gota Fria Coliseum. The 7 July result also confirmed Colombia’s place at the Lima 2027 Parapan American Games.
Argentina qualified alongside the champions despite losing the final. Brazil secured the remaining qualification place available through the competition by beating Venezuela 69-46 in the bronze-medal game. The medal results therefore carried consequences beyond the podium itself.
Chile finished fifth following a 62-28 victory over Peru. Peru already held a Lima place as host, a separate route from the qualifying positions earned in Valledupar. The official regional committee’s account confirmed the basketball outcomes; other sports still at semi-final stage were not treated as completed finals.
