Connacht players Diarmaid O’Connell and Daniel Ryan were selected for Ireland’s men’s Under-20 Six Nations squad. Head coach Andrew Browne named twenty-nine players, with Leinster tighthead prop Sami Bishti appointed captain for the championship campaign.
Browne also works as Connacht’s Elite Player Development Officer. Four members of the squad returned from the previous championship: Donnacha McGuire, Tom Wood, Charlie Molony and Derry Moloney. Their experience will accompany new selections as the group prepares for five fixtures.
Ireland opens against France in Perpignan on February 7 before hosting Italy at Virgin Media Park in Cork. The programme then includes England in Bath, followed by home matches against Wales and Scotland in Cork during March to conclude the tournament.
