Croft’s late equaliser earns England another Dutch shootout win
Belgium’s women beat Germany and the Dutch women continued their run in China.
Source publication date:
Henry Croft scored in the final minute as England’s men recovered to draw 2–2 with the Netherlands in Valencia. England then won the shootout 4–3, collecting an additional point after their second drawn meeting with the Dutch in the stage.
The Netherlands avoided the early deficits that had marked several previous matches, but could not preserve their lead through the closing period. Croft’s intervention changed the points distribution, bringing England a share from regulation and the subsequent bonus after a tense additional contest.
Belgium’s women secured a hard-fought 1–0 win against Germany later in the day. In China, the Dutch women extended their winning sequence with a comfortable victory over England, completing the official report’s coverage across the simultaneous Spanish and Chinese stages.
